The Open Arms Day Club is a friendly senior day center that feels like home and that promotes the quality of life and independence for older, frail adults through health, social and supportive services. We help family members and caregivers keep their loved one in their own home as long as possible, delaying and many times preventing, placement of their loved in a nursing home or assisted living facility. We enable families to afford our services by coordinating use of federal, state and county programs. We work with health professionals, families, volunteers, churches, civic organizations and businesses to ensure that your loved one ages positively, safely, with dignity. Call 908-840-4128 today to schedule your complimentary visit.
Many have some level of memory impairment; others have physical challenges such as Parkinson’s, diabetes, COPD, etc. Some are just isolated and lonely while their caregivers are at work or a much needed break. Whatever the reason, your loved one will be helped by a kind, caring staff and social interaction. .
Music, laughter, stories, games, movies, seated exercise, brain gym, nutritious and balanced meals, ceramics, painting, poetry, safe hobbies and activities such as bread baking, bowling, gardening, pet and art therapy, volleyball, BINGO!
Our members enjoy the variety — or they can choose to do nothing special, maybe read or rest.
On special “Salon Days,” the Day Club offers the services of a licensed cosmetologist who provide hair care and manicures. To complement the Salon Days and services of the cosmetologist, we offer the care of a licensed podiatrist on a regularly scheduled basis. Both the cosmetologist and the podiatrist both have extensive experience serving the elderly. They understand many of the preferences of our mature members and make the visits a very pleasant and personal experience. The convenience of these services and the “new looks” of our members pleases everyone and especially our members.
Compare the cost of our Day Club to a nursing home ($8,000 to $10,000+ per month) or assisted living ($3,000 to $5,000+ per month). Our Day Club even if you choose to come every day Monday to Friday would cost much less than a nursing home, assisted living, or at home care. And the best part is your loved one is in their own home every night and in a safe, supportive environment when you can not be at home.
Many family members provide their own transportation for their loved one, coordinating the transportation with their work schedules. For families that can not transport their loved one Hunterdon County offers LINK services and the private sector offer other transportation options. When desired by family members, our program managers are available to assist families with the coordination of transportation from all available sources.
